Draycott Completes the Acquisition of Square Asset Management
Draycott, a diversified alternative asset management company, has completed the acquisition of 100% of the share capital of Square Asset Management – Sociedade Gestora de Organismos de Investimento Coletivo (Square AM).
With the integration of Square AM, Draycott says it is strengthening its position as "one of Portugal's leading asset management companies."
João Coelho Borges, CEO and Co-Founder of Draycott, Portugal's leading private equity firm by number and value of transactions, said the acquisition "strengthens our presence in real estate investment, adding scale, distribution capabilities and a highly significant investor base."
"The complementary nature of our two platforms enables us to capture clear product and market access synergies, accelerating our growth. This marks an important step in building a leading alternative assets platform in Portugal," he added.
Pedro Coelho, CEO of Square AM, highlighted his confidence "in the success and innovation that this acquisition will bring to our business."
"Over the past 20 years, Square AM has built a strong reputation in the Iberian real estate investment funds market and is now naturally entering a new phase. Square AM leads Real Estate Fund Market Share Growth in Portugal in May
Portugal's real estate fund market continues to demonstrate resilience and growth. According to the latest data published by the Portuguese Securities Market Commission (CMVM), assets under management reached €21.1 billion in May, representing a 0.6% increase compared with the previous month.
Square Asset Management further strengthened its market position, ranking second with a 13% market share. The company also recorded the largest market share increase in the sector, gaining 0.23 percentage points during the month.
